I started using Kopete today and this is my impression of its GUI.
I think it is not very usable in some of it's menu...
There are just too many options or better there are twice the same option or
completely useless options... because of this I have to swim between options to
find what i need.
Just to show what i mean:
(Tray icon on right clic)
-Nobody will ever use *minimize* since you can just clic on the icon to do that;
-When someone add a contact he open the full window...or at least i do so...
-Set status is the most important thing you do with tray icon... if you have to
go away fast you can't look for that options... take away that awful submenu
for global status;
-Set status for specific protocol: ok, it may be useful, but it's boring to
swim again in submenu and set every time "no status message"... it should be by
default and if someone need a particular status message, he just add it than;
And this is just for tray icon... ^_^
I read on the official website FAQ, and I know you have to respect kde
"standard" and I don't really know which these standard are... but I really
think the menu system needs a clean up...
This is my opinion, I don't want to flame...
And... like always... sorry for my English and if i didn't found a similar
thread in the bug tracker.
If you want I'll post others suggestions (this was only tray icon), I haven't
already wrote the rest because you may just blame me and I want to go to bed at
the moment...
