does this happen only when scim is active? (ie, running and being used by
kopete and not in english mode)
you can use scim normally in kate, right?
does the scim thingummy pop up near the cursor at all for any amount of time?
if you type really fast can you get anything to show up?
I recently noticed a bug in kdevelop where the scim thing vanishes after about
half a second, so I could only type chinese characters there if I knew how to
type them in less than that time.
