Here are the details.
I removed the binary ubuntu provided.
I built Kopete from stable svn. Builds/installs/runs okay.
/home/username/.kde/share/apps/kopete/logs does not exist so History plugin
doesn't work. No error message.
I created the folder "logs" under kopete and it works correctly.
