Since I'm using an SSL connection, I also see the following types of messages:
:irc.example.org 275 My_Nick Other_person_Nick :is connected via SSL (secure
link)

This is especially annoying for IRC channels with lots of people connected.
Oddly, not everybody on the channel generates these (but most do).
