I'm running Mepis 7.0, KDE 3.5.8 & Kopete 0.12.7 pretty successfully. As trial
have been chatting to MSN buddy. I have the Logitech QuickCam Pro 4000, and it
works fine with Mepis and with Kopete to a limited degree. The webcam is listed
in Devices, and the preview gives a proper webcam view, however when I close
that configuration menu the webcam shuts off, and does not work. Next I set up
a Testbed account and that account presents the "Show my own video..." option
in the menu, and the webcam comes up and displays correctly with the live view.
Still I can neither send nor receive live video with Kopete on MSN or AIM.
Mepis loads Guarddog, and I disabled that for testing, but with no change.
I read quite a bit, and added KDEnetwork, and KDEmultimedia packages, but no
change resulted.
Any suggestions???
