I do too, with some caveats. > > (In case you wonder, by default, there is no custom displayname. the nickname > is displayed instead but would not be taken in account for metacontact > merging. My additional thoughts (Caveats): From a UI perspective, it might be extremely surprising to a user who did not realize this would happen, if there isn't a notice about it. Though, I suspect many would be pleasantly surprised. Adium does (or at least did, I can't seem to trigger it lately), something nice: When you set two contacts to have the same display name, it asks if you'd like to merge the contact. I think there should be a similar interface in Kopete, if XMPP goes this direction (or Kopete does separately). An exclusion mechanism might be nice, so that you explicitly set some contacts to be non-merged. If I ever get some time back (been working too hard lately), I might poke at this idea. -linuxfood P.S. It's been awhile since I've been active on the list or with KDE at all, it's good to get back into it :) _______________________________________________ kopete-devel mailing list [email protected] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kopete-devel
