I skimmed over ejabberd's documentation and it says that a domain name is
required (it even supports virtual hosts). Can you access its configuration
file and see what the domain part is set to? It might be different to the host
name seen from outside (in that case, use ahoffsta ejabbersettinghere and
override the server address in the Connection tab with the one seen from
outside).
