I can't reproduce it here with Kopete 4.0.4 and jabber.org. Please make sure
that there is no kwallet dialog coming up in the background and waiting for
input. This appears as kopete hanging.
Please reopen if you can reproduce it with vanilla KDE 4.0.4 (no kdemod) and
provide more information, especially the jabber server (type and address, if
public).
