But, as discussed, there's a possiblity that with mutt I can remap
the appropriate options into something sensible ("r" = do the right
thing, here and now), except the last time I tried that with mutt[1],
the side-effects were undesirable, so I had to stop.
Obviously, mutt isn't all it could be. Oh, well.
[1] I like the "mutt -y" list. Returning to that list when exiting a
folder would be a good thing. Except that the mechanism to make that
happen means that the "do you want to delete purged messages" request
is disassociated with the folder containing the messages...
