Realistically, yes. Depending on how far you go, though, you may consider it a security value to not let the outside world know if you re-request something. Say... to hide the number of computers behind the proxy. But, as I understand it, there's hardly ever such a thing as *just* a caching proxy. Caching is only one thing a proxy could do. It could also filter ads and javascript and whole categories of network traffic.
