I would say that would protect you in most cases. Some loggers are just slipped in line between the computer and the keyboard. You could always open a random website, and cut and paste your passphrase into the dialog. This would be harder to track. Just grab something from the history. As far as higher tech toys G Men use, well they probably aren't looking into you if their stuff is hooked up to your friends computer. Not sure if that should give you any comfort or not.Are keyloggers always software based??
Perhaps rebooting foreign PCs into Knoppix is the only safe way then.
