I installed StarOffice back in the day with the /net option by su'ing to an "application" account after making the target directory writable by that account. It worked fine. I see the current trend as something akin to shipping systems with all services running by default. It's dangerous and not necessary, but it is also just so gosh-darned convenient. -Stewart "No so much a trend as an established convention, I know" Stremler -- KPLUG-List mailing list [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
