I don't know where you can find the part, but you can find the phone books at your local Ralph's grocery store. They will have the white (and pink) pages for San Diego as well as the Yellow Pages that cover the area of the Ralph's store where you're getting them.

I'd been having issues with a cpu performing badly and after asking
around it turns out that the most likely culprit is something I'd
completely forgotten about. When attaching the heatsink it slipped and
a couple of the rubber risers on the cpu got partially scraped off.
It's been suggested online that I replace them with a copper shim like
this:

But I'd feel realy silly paying $4.99 shipping to mailorder a $2.50
part. I did some calling around but we don't have a phone book (long
story) and half the listings in Yahoo's yellow pages are either out of
date or are private consultants rather than actual repair shops.
Anyway, the short version is that I've yet to find a place that sells
them and I was wondering if anyone more familiar witht he local
computer stores could recommend a place to look.

Thanks,
