Implications of GPG expired secret key

I have a GPG key that I created last year, and had signed at a KPLUG meeting. However, I unfortunately let the key expire. How big of a deal is this with regards to the keyservers that have my key? What does this do to the web of trust?

I'll be trying to update the key, but if any of you have any tips on recovering from this situation, please let me know.
