File/preferences/font.
There's no "preferences" under File in my version. "properties" may seem close, but there's no "font" options there.

Is there a way to change the default font?
Helvetica is one ugly font. I'd like to set the default to New Century Schoolbook.
I didn't find any "." files for it in my home directory. There is no man page for gnumeric (nor Gnumeric). The help that's built in doesn't even use the word "default" and what it has for fonts is just for changing the font of cells. I already know how to change the font for cells, including the entire sheet. I just don't like having to do it every time I start a new workbook.
