But I can't really name a single code or feature or anything really obvious that made such a huge difference in my use or enjoyment of Linux.
Not so much a code thing, but IBM have certainly contributed marketing muscle to raising the profile of Linux.
This in turn has probably convinced a few middle-managers to let their underlings put Linux in the data-center "officially".
Similar to when the IBM PC came out and legitimized all the under the radar micro-PC projects that were going on.
