I'm guessing March 10th at SDCOE.
Yes, though I think the room number is different.
Any installfest planned?
I'm working on it, but it doesn't look good for March. I have been contacted by Robert Donovan, who says he can get us into NCAS again. We need to create a petition requesting that a "class" be held again, with enough signatures to justify holding installfests at NCAS. Those signing the petition need to ascert that they will attend installfests at NCAS. Everything looks good, but the Principle wants assurance that it will be well attended.
Thanks for posting this, Neil.
I just got off the phone with Juan Garcia, the instructor for the daytime A+ class at NCAS. He also wants to get the Installfests back to NCAS. He tells me that the petition must contain verifyable addresses and phone numbers. They will not be calling you or releasing the information. They just want to be able to verify that the petition is not being padded with fake names. The minimum number we need to shoot for is 20. More is, of course, always better. By signing the petition you are basically saying that you will show up, not that you are merely inerested. Judging from past experience, attendance was not really a problem once we get the doors open, the trouble is convincing the new clutch of people at the district who were not here when we did this last time that there is still sufficient demand. The only other thing we need is someone to be the instructor of record when the class is actually in session. Ed Van Meter used to do it but no longer wants to. Glynn Reynolds has already committed firmly to being willing to be the instructor, on a volunteer basis, if the class gets going again. He is listed as a substitute teacher for the Sweetwater Union High School District, of which NCAS is a part, so there should be no problem there. I'll get the exact requirement for volunteering to instruct if you're interested in helping out.
More as I get it,
