I didn't follow this.  Where are you running mutt?  If you're
running it on the local machine with IMAP, you have to download the
attachments anyway, right?  Seems like the only thing you have to
worry about is setting up the mime/mailcap stuff (which I suck at), and
you can view the attachments just by selecting them.  Urlview works
great for selecting and showing the web addresses.

I have the same reaction.  I've chosen the more powerful tools, but
so many people are only satisfied with eye-candy.  Balsa was
_supposed_ to be a GUI version of mutt, but it never included the
best features (or even some of my required ones). I suppose I
should look again to see if it has been improved.
