i don't think either python nor lisp are the final word in rapid
prototyping.

at least one university teacher i know is advocating the use of pike to
prototype in java classes. since pike and java share the same base
syntax he believes that this will help people learn programming because
pike is a lot easier to learn for the beginner, and then transition to
java is rather smooth.

the same would go for c

of course once you are really into using pike, why would you still want
to use java? ;-)
