Yes, there are a lots of programs currently using Linux Red Hat 8 and 9 also 
Susi ( not sue how it's spell), but this are not on laptops.  We would like to 
find a laptop that has a lot of power and that it will be easy to configure 
under linux.  Here are a couple I'm looking at;
 
Dell Precision Mobile Workstation M70
Dell Inspiron XPS Gen 2
I have not checked the other manufactures yet.
