The bad news is it takes up to 6 weeks to feel the benefits. However, the splitting headaches (the worst of the withdrawal symptoms) leave in about 4 days IIRC. Tapering off like you're describing is what I/we (wife) did, too. I think it's the least painful way. For myself, the eventual goal has to be complete abstinence, since otherwise my limited use creeps back up. You're an inspiration to me. I'm going to China again in June/July, where good coffee is hard to find, and it's be nice to be clean. Maybe after this weekend (Costa Mesa for a chess tournament) I can start my withdrawal. Hmm ... no, better wait until after the Kplug meeting on the 12th.
