Do media related digital laws really get paraded around news shows? I
know I'm being naive, but it seems like most of the laws targeting the
digital world flounder and die. Surely people realize that Congress
is churning out PUPY?

PUPY (püp pE) == Panicked, Unprincipled, Pandering Yuckiness

My info-feed consists (pretty damned near) entirely of geek stuff.
Most of what I read online in news stories and the like, people
realize these laws are lame. *I* can laugh when Congress passes the
CAN-SPAM act and claims it will cut down on spam. *I* know that the
Communications Decency Act was unconstitutional and powerless.
Doesn't everybody else? (At least, everybody who bothers to know
anything about it.)
