The reason that I like the huge trackball so much is that I never
really grip it.  I usually just roll the mouse over the window I
want and click once or twice, and that is seldom because I use
keyboard shortcuts a lot.

My main attraction to trackballs is the fact that I don't have to
"search" for it.  I like just tapping the big ball a bit to move my
mouse, without losing focus on my work.  If it requires more than
that, then I'm using my palm to position the mouse.  I push buttons
with my thumb and ring finger or pinky.  Since I don't do it much,
it isn't an uncomfortable strain.  I'd get much more strain from
holding a mouse in the same position for long periods.

I just keep my hands on the keyboard as much as possible.
