Hi guys I have to use my linux box trugh a Belkin switch but for some
reason it will not work properly. After I switch once the mouse looses
all control and it start doing crasy things. Has any one seen this
before? I'm googling now to see if there is anything on the web.
Every Belkin KVM I've ever used suffers from this very problem. Primarily,
because Belkin KVMs do some bizzare protocol interpretation and re-encoding
between the mouse and the computer, and when you switch, it gets out of
sync.
Two fixes that I know of on Linux that don't involve esoteric kernel
boot-time parameters:
1) when you switch to your linux box, flip to a text console and then back
to your X session
2) when you switch to your Linux box, unplug and then re-plug your mouse
(really only works with USB mice).
My solution was to buy an IOGear USB KVM. More expensive, but it works.

Another fix that has worked for me is to make sure that you are not
using the intelimouse driver for the mouse.
