One interesting thing though, it appears the extra event that is being generated on scroll up is the same as whatever my right mouse button is. If you bring up a webpage in Firefox and (using your wheel mouse), click the right mouse button somewhere in the webpage, you'll get a popup menu. I get that along with the up scroll. I don't think that would actually be it. I'll give that a try, but I seem to recall this not being a problem before installing Fedora Core.
