Don't know yet as I haven't tried it. That will be the next thing to
try. Although I was hoping to avoid having to run my box on one cpu for
any length of time since that's not really what I paid money for but if
it helps solve the problem I guess I can put up with it for a few days.

My traditional x86 machines have been rock solid with SMP kernel.
Perhaps there are some bugs left to be worked out in the SMP code on the
lesser tested platforms.
