New Google Talk Offers Instant Messaging & Voice Chat By Danny Sullivan, Editor August 24, 2005
As widely expected, Google waded into the instant messaging space today with the debut of Google Talk, an IM client that also offers the ability to make voice calls between computers. http://searchenginewatch.com/searchday/article.php/3529566 Put this together with $4 Billion in the new stock offering and free WiFi and you have Google out to bypass the entire existing telephony industry. Everything in telephony becomes "free" i.e. paid for by advertising. Now that is a big vision. Scary too. BobLQ -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
