I remember asking this before I lost my last HD.
I'd like to set the prompt in some way that makes it stand out from the
rest of the text filling the screen. I searched for "prompt" with
apropos but nothing there seemed relevant.
While writing this, it occurred to me to check "man bash" and found some
stuff about it there. But so far I haven't been able to find enough to
do anything.
At a prompt, I typed "set" which shows me the current values of
"PROMPT_COMMAND", "PS1", "PS2", and "PS4" (among many *many* others).
I recall Carl giving me one solution which involved "export". But that
section of "man bash" doesn't give me enough info.
I feel like I'm spinning my wheels. Or maybe I'm not even looking in
the right places.
