Many (most?) people want convenience more than data rate. Who gives a flip how fast the hard drive is on a laptop? A cheap USB drive will make *lots* of situations nicer. The world is *not* a bunch of sysadmins lamenting about how long it takes to push 2 Tb of data through their USB Bacula system.
