Ahhh.. you must have one of the ones that hear coming from some rack in the colo, every time I go there. Naturally, the audible alert doesn't do one bit of good at 3am on Sunday in a a middle row of a colo facility where the system owner may even be thousands of miles away or at least doesn't come to visit very often. I like that mine email me.

Mine starts beeping like crazy. I don't think they would be any good
if it wasn't VERY clear when it was time to replace a drive.
