That's not a gigabit router, none of the gigabit ports are network
layer aware. It's a 100MB router with a gigabit switch just to be
clear on the distinction, though it's likely exactly what you want.
Actually, I found the 4300 model- 20 bucks more for wireless, not too
shabby. I'm grabbing it, I think it is pretty much what I want. More ports
would be nice, but I can always buy a hub/switch.
For simple curiosity, I'd like to know why you don't think it qualifies as a
true gigabit router. The network layer (if I remember my OSI model
correctly) is the IP level, correct? How can the router not be aware of the
IP layer? I probably don't understand what you mean by the term aware.
