*shwug* I know I presented an _extreme_ situation, but it is one that is
certainly possible. One-off's have a way of becoming standard operating

you guys! i'm telling you! I may not learn anything about linux on
this list, but it sure is a good read for a good laugh!  If this is
the face of open source, then it would be a mystery to me how the
community produces anything.

It's precisely BECOZ we are this suspicious that we produce what we do.
We don't like corporations holding the keys, coz we don't trust them
We don't like govt controlling our actions (at the behest of corporations) so we develop means to circumvent
