We are in need of an IT person. In summary, our network needs some
re-building and re-design, equipment fixed and updated, software
upgrades, etc. The position will be full time for a couple of months
until the system is stable and reliable after which it will be on an
as-needed basis. Interviews will be with multiple people, including
myself. Salary range is open.
Basic requirements:
UNIX type operating systems: Solaris, Linux, FreeBSD
Windows operating systems: NT, W2K, W2K3
Applications: Apache (including SSL), Exchange, Outlook, IIS, MS SQL,
MySQL, RCS, Open LDAP, Active Directory, network backup systems such as
Veritas, amanda, Archeia, Peachtree and Perforce a plus
Security: Knowledge of computer and network security a plus.
Networking: T1, routers, firewall systems, cabling, switches, etc.
Hardware: Sun systems, IBM PC clones, RAID arrays, backup systems
Additional skills:
Scripting in Perl, PHP, shell scripting a plus.
SQL knowledge and DBM skills a plus.
C/C++ programming.
Visual Basic programming.
Cyrus mail, Xen, Open Groupware
Currently we have several Windows servers and one Solaris server.
Everything needs to be updated and some Windows systems need to be
migrated to UNIX based OSS systems. Networking infrastructure will be
upgraded and a new T1 is scheduled to be installed. Future plans include
the installation of Apache web servers, MySQL database systems, and
possible ERP system installation. Knowledge of Business Continuity
Planning and Disaster Recovery Planning desirable, but not required.
Excellent communication and writing skills and the ability to work under
pressure needed.
