You and I need to get together! :) I have done my personal website in
plone (http://ultraviolet.org) and I am slowly customizing it. I
recently upgraded to plone 2.1. Trying to figure out how to convert my
SimpleBlog entries over to Quills. The conversion script doesn't work
and the Quills developers don't seem interested (or are unable) in
helping. I like how I can just take anything from the plone skin and
drop it into my Product which contains a skin and override the method in
the plone skin higher up the inheritance tree. I did things through the
web interface for quite a while and finally got tired of it. Now I am
learning how to develop skins and products etc. in the filesystem.

And right now I really need to learn to build a few archetype content
types to implement some basic web applications, some of which are
serious paying jobs for clients which I have been holding off to do with
ATCT.

I also need to get more up to speed on CSS as I know you can totally
customize the look and feel of plone using only CSS. One of the main
(and silly) complaints people have about plone is that all plone sites
look the same. Well duh. Of course they do straight out of the box. But
there are a lot of highly modified plone sites out there (often done
only by tweaking the css) which are not even recognizable as plone
anymore. I hope to slowly evolve my websites in that direction.

But seriously, I'd like to have a plone/zope get together soon if you or
anyone else are interested. Not a formal sig or sub-sig or regular
meetings anything like that.
