If you really want MySQL 5 for some reason (you want the stored
procedures and triggers and what not), you can rebuild the source RPM
from FC-5.  They will provide all the Fedora-specific goodies like init
scripts and such.  Though, since you're running RHEL, you wouldn't
receive any support for it.

I am about to begin a similar task.  One of the fun things I need to do
is find a smooth way of allowing customer service to create and manage
tickets while on the phone with an irate customer (is there any other
kind?).
