Don't go get an attitude, we're trying to help you out here.

It's been a while, but cvs has notification trigger examples in its
distribution. I never got them working, but I never really tried.

There is a pretty good O'Reilly book on svn and a not bad new book that
just came out. Either would do fine. Also, Subversion the project has
stuff.
