It seems on the rare occasions that I do call them, I'm asked right up front what OS I'm running. Depending upon the problem and person, I may even get asked if I have a router and what kind. (Then again, I do pay for two IPs, so I imagine my account as they see it says something to that effect, which may imply the use of a router to the tech.)

Between the two of us, we can usually work together to figure out the issue.

Maybe that's just my dumb luck.

Dumb luck frequently results from being prepared.
