I've got a 256MB Kingston Datatraveler. Never had a problem with Mepis or XP. However, trying to use it on 98 (which requires a driver) is IFFY at best. As long as I don't try to write anything to the drive using 98 it doesn't hurt anything, but even just reading it seems to only read about half the data. And the one time I tried writing to it with 98 it really screwed things up...
