Look at sash, the Stand Alone SHell. Also called the SysAdmin SHell. It
has most of those programs compiled in statically:

  ar chattr chgrp chmod chown cmp cp dd echo ed file find grep gunzip
  gzip kill ln ls lsattr mkdir mknod more mount mv printenv pwd rm rmdir
  sum sync tar touch umount where
