Today's Fry's ad in the Union-Tribune shows a picture of what could be a
Linksys WRT54G and describes it as a:

Fry's Exclusive!
Linux-Based all-in-one wireless-G solution
Linux Open source firmware released by the GNU
Wireless-G Router, Access Point and 4 Port Wired Router
Push Button Setup/Configuration

Is anyone familiar with this particular product?

If you mean "is anyone locally using this", I'm pretty sure Mark Wolfe is.
If you mean "what does the rest of the world know", Google with search words
linux wrt54g

It must be the newish WRT54GL, router - the L is for Linux: http://tinyurl.com/8b9ap [1]. This is really the original Linux-based version of lore, now repackaged and with a higher price. Linksys has moved to VxWorks as the OS on the newest versions (v5) of the WRT54G series.

I've been looking for model at Fry's since I read about it a few months ago. But I can't believe it's only available at Fry's. Maybe that's true locally, but you can get it here also:
