My company is looking for a UNIX administrator. Contract basis, part time. $30-$40 per hour. A lot of work to be done up front, less as things are upgraded and fixed. Will work with our Windows admin as needed.

 - Solaris, Free BSD, Linux.
 - Migration from Windows to Linux
 - MySQL, Apache, Samba, NFS configuration a must.
 - Windows and UNIX system backups (Backup Exec currently in use).
 - PC and Sun system hardware knowledge
 - Open LDAP configuration and maintenance
 - Typical network hardware - switches, routers, T1 equipment, etc.


Duties:

 - Migration from Exchange to a UNIX replacement.
 - Migration of Windows servers to UNIX based servers.
 - Consolidation of multiple older servers into fewer, newer servers.
 - Migration from IIS to Apache web server.
- Administration of Linux MySQL and Apache servers, Samba on Solaris and Linux
 - Setup and installation of backup service for UNIX and Linux servers
 - Maintenance of Free BSD firewall
 - Implementation of Open LDAP for network authentication


Additional Skills (optional):

 - Perl, PHP, or other scripting/programming
 - Good written and verbal communication skills
 - Windows and UNIX interoperability experience
 - Network security a plus.
 - Network design a plus.
 - Knowledge of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans a plus
 - MySQL programming
 - HTML and Javascript
