Most distributions give you a way to "escape" to the grub command line,
or type in kernel options at boot. In SuSE, I can just type them in at
the bootup screen (e.g. linux single, linux noacpi).  In Ubuntu I have
to hit Esc to get a prompt line and then can type the options. Don't
know about Fedora.
