Well, I can't justify waiting any longer. I'm going to MythTV 0.19 now,
despite having a wireless card that refuses to work in the Myth box
(kind of important since the main TV is far far from any Cat 5).
Stand by for cursing and begging for help.
Cat 5 is cheap.
You wanna explain to my wife having it coiled down the hall and
staircase?
She won't let you punch out some walls and drill through her floors!
That's outRAGEOUS! That just won't DO!
That being thae case... That reply from Chris on your WiFi thread seems
to be the fastest way to actually get something running. Use a wireless
router/bridge that can wirelessly connect to your base wireless router
by wired connection between that second router/bridge and the MythTV
box. This can solve the one problem while giving you time to fish around
for the problem of wireless from the MythTV box itself.
I have to do this if I really need to use VMWare and NOT be tethered to
the wireless router connected to the Cable/DSL modem, I need to be wired
to a second wireless router that can connect (WDS/Bridge mode) to the
first or base router wired to the Cable/DSL modem.
It's a way to just go around the problem to get the immeadiate problem
solved (wireless for the MythTV box).
Make sense?
