What if you reverted to FC3 again?  I don't know how yum works, but with
apt-get you can put specific packages 'on hold' to keep them from being
upgraded.  I learned to do this with my kernels and most recently Xorg.   I
keep the kernel on hold so I don't have to recompile my vmware modules every
few weeks.  And I had to 'downgrade' my xorg because Debian did something
highly irregular with their xorg packages that kept X from starting.  But I
digress...

If you revert to FC3, is it possible to put the madwifi (or whatever
packages you need to keep working) on hold and then upgrade the rest of the
bunch?
