I was considering upgrading the laptop that fry's had
adertised to a Turion ml-40

They will sell you a "barebones" laptop for a cheap price.
Twinhead Durabook P/N NBN14RATK008

I looked at the Durabook at last week's Desktop Linux conference, and
was favorably impressed by its construction.  "Barebones" means it
doesn't have a CPU, RAM, disk drive.  So you can outfit it the way you
want.  I'm not sure this is what anyone really wants to do.
