Sure, I'm not saying someone wouldn't want to attack my computer or steal or
what not.  I just mentally prepare myself that "if everything up and dies on
me", I can start over and everything will be fine.  It's not like I'm going
to die if my computer is abused...  (:

The people who feel that way (that they would die if they lost something on
their computer) could only ever have any peace of mind with ignorance.  (:

You are right in that nobody cares about your homework assignments or
porn collection. But your computer is very valuable to spammers and DDoS
networks for its bandwidth. Bandwidth is a precious commodity these days
and worth stealing.
