Dave, For smallish boards and 1 or 2 drives, I use the Supermicro SC-512L without CDROM or Floppy. I use USB to load the OS, then the network for everything else. You can get them locally at PCN (www.gopcn.com). They come with 200W or 260W power supplies. They usually stock both, and there is only a few dollar difference between them. There is also the option of getting this case with CDROM and floppy, but it will only fit one HDD then. It's small 14" deep, very friendly and you won't cut yourself on it.
They supply M5 Hosting and many other hosts in town with rackable servers. If the SC-512L is not what you are looking for, then they might have something else that is also reasonable price. Mike Quoting Dave Thomas <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:
Hey guys, Can someone suggest a local retailer for a 1U server case+PS? I know you get what you pay for, but "value pricing" would be good here. Last time at Fry's they had discontinued the mediocre, overpriced ones they had there. Thanks, Dave -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
