Nothing besides screwlock terminals. Using anything else isn't approved by NEMA. So, as long as you tighten the wire in the screw terminals down to 15 lbs/in, you should be OK. The connectors I use have compression bindings and strain reliefs to assist with keeping the wire in place. In quantities of 10+, they're right around $3.00 each end.
2. (only half-joking:) Would you like to give a class someday on making good cat-5 cables?
