I think that the default page size is "letter" so you don't need to

different if you live in a metric country.
I have just looked through the sources of "psnup" and other psutils.
It looks like there was a compilation screwup somewhere at
RedHat/Fedora that did something odd to the man.page for the parts of
psutils that have a default paper size. These are: psnup, psresize,
pstops.
The man.page for each says "the default paper size is _glibc" which
makes no sense. It ought to say "the default paper size is letter" or
"the default paper size is a4". This is a compile-time option, and is
"letter" for the FC3 and FC5 systems that I have up. To tell which
option was compiled in for your system, execute the following command:
$ strings $(which psnup) | grep letter
letter
[/letter/legal/executivepage/a4/a4small/b5/com10envelope
/monarchenvelope/c5envelope/dlenvelope/lettersmall/note
The single line containing the word "letter" is an indication that
your psutils were compiled with PAPER=letter. If the default had been
PAPER=a4 that line would not be present.
Fixing the man.pages without re-making psutils from source is left as
an exercise for the student. :-)
