If I may ask a possibly dumb question....

Why does anyone blog?

Why does anyone keep a diary?

Your question has the same level of meaning.

And another angle to this is the same idea as that of the ability of people other than scribes of the church and the merchantile class to publish almost any and everything after the invention of moveable type by Gutenburg. Maybe it isn't a perfect analogy but it makes sense to me that when it becomes trivial for the "everyman" to publish the motivations to do so are the same as back then.

People haven't changed but their communication tools and the time technology allows each and every person to use those tools have changed.

Google Earth (for Linux) --> La Bufadora --> 31 43 26.42, -116 43 22.75
Google Earth (for Linux) --> Reino de los NiƱos (Kid's Kingdom: The orphanage where I have been doing volunteer tech work for the last 10 days)--> 31 42.361, -116 33.767

See I need a blog too  ;^)

P.S. and I am real close to getting them to understand that Linux is good for them and Mexico!
